MEDICINAL PLANTSI have used or harvested the following plants for medicinal uses, and make NO claims to their value, but they have worked for me. Jewelweed. If the stem is crushed, the sap can be spread on to relieve stinging nettle and to a lesser degree, poision ivy. Where there is nettles, you will find Jewelweed close by. Milkweed. The sap can be used to relieve Poison Ivy. Dogbane. The mashed leaves can be used on wounds. Also make exceptioal cordage. Willow. The bark and leaves when dried or boiled, make a great asprin substitute. They can also be chewed raw, but tastes alot like chewing asprin.
