Do any of you have any docum of ANY quilled item,,belonging to native or white either...attributed to being owned in the south ?
I know trade routes were extensive,,and iv no doubt items from the north were traded for items from the south,,but id like a 'legitmate docum' of something..anything.....qulled belonging to someone in the southlands.

Here is a quote from the Naturalist, Wm. Bartram in 1774:

A very curious diadem or band, about four inches broad and ingeniously wrought or woven, and curiously decorated with stones, beads, wampum, porcupine quills, &c., encircles their temples; the front peak of it being embellished with a high waving plume, of crane or heron feathers. (p. 394)
