Hello Everyone,
I hope that you all are doing well. I wanted to let you all know that later this month I am planning to shutdown HistoricalTrekking.com and delete the forum. As many of you know Facebook has killed most of the forums not just dedicated to our hobby but also many others. Because the site is used very little and this forum software is grossly outdated I have decided that I will be shutting it down.

At this point I do not have any plans to use the domain so likely I will just point it to the MUZZLELOADER website but we might reopen it in the future if web based forums again look like a viable option.

I started this site in November of 1999, so we have had over 20 years of activity here. It was started because there were very few people interested in period trekking where I lived and this was a way to communicate with people who shared the same interest.

I thank you all for your participation here through the years and I hope that you understand!

Thank you,
Jason W. Gatliff

I forgot to mention that I am shutting it down later this month to give any of you time to save any messages that you want to save before the forum is deleted.
Thank you,
JG

Thank you for your dedication and all you have done are continue to do re the promotion of this historical based activity. I really lament the wholesale switch from these types of boards to "facebook" . It [ facebook] just doesn't work for me !.

I met you back in those good, early days at the Fort Loudoun Trade Faire.

Came across my collection of On the Trail mags a couple weeks ago.

I learned a lot on this board, met some good folks, and made some good trades.

Many thanks to you for everything you've done through the years. I appreciate it.
