I well know that no one hardly post on this site anymore. So Sad. That being said I would like to say "Merry Christmas" to all and a "Happy New Year" May the blessings of Heaven rest upon all of you and the Lord keep you all safe in the coming year.

Merry Christmas ! Hope everyone had a tasty meal and good company. Best wishes for a safe and healthy 2020. We had a traditional 18th C Christmas and extended this to the meal. Superb turkey, and stuffing , sweet potatoes, carrots, mashed potatoes , bear ham etc etc with pumpkin pie and whipped cream for desert . It only took 7 hours to cook the turkey !!!!! and of course, the cream was whipped by hand . Our neighbour washer for the celebration. She lives a very medieval life , off grid, no power whatsoever, and draws water from a well, [ we are an odd lot here ] Our 18th C ways are very modern in her view. After our meal we discussed shields, spears and the use of horn cups over tea :- ]
